Zelensky thanks Slovakia for weapons aid for Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Slovakia's Prime Minister Eduard Heger, who is on a visit to Ukraine.

The press service of the Ukrainian President’s Office wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

 “The head of state thanked Slovakia's people and the head of Slovakia's government not only for supporting Ukraine verbally, but also for the weapons aid for our country to resist the Russian invasion," the report says.

Earlier, on April 8, the Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Slovakia discussed increasing pressure on Russia, humanitarian aid and support for Ukraine's accession to the European Union.

Slovakia's Prime Minister Eduard Heger confirmed that his country had provided an S-300 air defense system to Ukraine against Russia's aggression.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
