Zelensky sees Johnson as leader in sanctions pressure on Russia, defense support for Ukraine

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is one of the most principled opponents of Russia's war against Ukraine and a leader in exerting sanctions pressure on Russia and providing defense support to Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in a statement on Telegram on the occasion of Johnson's visit to Kyiv, Ukrinform reports.

"The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, is one of the most principled opponents of the Russian invasion, a leader in sanctions pressure on Russia and in defense support for Ukraine. Welcome to Kyiv, my friend!" Zelensky wrote.

Earlier, Deputy Head of the Ukrainian President's Office of the President Andrii Sybiha said that Zelensky was holding a meeting with Johnson in Kyiv.
