Zelensky, Scholz discuss punishment for perpetrators of Russian war crimes in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz have discussed the need to identify and punish all those responsible for Russian war crimes against Ukraine.
The head of state said this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
"Had a phone conversation with German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz. We emphasized that all perpetrators of war crimes must be identified and punished," Zelensky said.
Both parties also discussed anti-Russian sanctions, defense and financial support for Ukraine.
The war Russia started against Ukraine is already in its 46th day. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying critical and civilian infrastructure, brutally torturing and killing Ukrainians.
