Russian forces tried to enter Severodonetsk but the Ukrainian army repulsed the offensive.
Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Haidai wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"There were attempts to break through near Severodonetsk, but they were repulsed. Air strikes were launched near Rubizhne and Novotoshkivske, bypassing Popasna. But the enemy suffers losses and retreat,” Haidai said.
At the same time, according to him, the Russian military continues to accumulate military equipment.
As Ukrinform reported, Russian artillery and rocket attacks on residential areas and places of evacuation of civilians continue in Luhansk region. On April 9, one person was killed and four others were injured in Russian shelling of Severodonetsk.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
