Rally held in Vienna to commemorate victims of Russian aggression
A rally in memory of the victims of the Russian invasion of Ukraine took place on Stefanplatz Square near St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna on Sunday night.
According to an Ukrinform correspondent, during the event, organized by NGO Unlimited Democracy, about 1,000 candles were lit in the square in the historic center of Vienna to commemorate the fallen Ukrainians.
The participants in the rally chanted slogans in support of Ukraine and its defenders, and sang the national anthem of Ukraine several times.
On February 24, Russian President Putin launched a new phase of the war against Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying infrastructure and residential areas of Ukrainian cities, towns and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
Russian aggressors are committing mass atrocity crimes. In the Kyiv region alone, Ukrainian law enforcement officers recorded the deaths of 1,222 civilians.
