Over 3,000 criminal proceedings opened for crimes committed by Russian troops in Kyiv Region

Over 3,050 criminal proceedings have been opened for the crimes committed by Russian troops in Kyiv Region since the Russian invasion started.

The relevant statement was made by Head of the National Police of Ukraine in Kyiv Region Andrii Niebytov, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, referring to the Ukrainian Internal Affairs Ministry.

“Kyiv Region. Since the war started, over 3,050 criminal proceedings have been opened for the crimes committed by Russian troops,” the report states.

In particular, during the martial law, the police opened 233 criminal proceedings for encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine. They are also investigating 1,463 cases of the violation of the laws and customs of war.

“The number of the civilian bodies found and examined in Kyiv Region has already exceeded 720. Meanwhile, 200 more people are reported as missing,” Niebytov noted.

Law enforcement officers have registered over 150 cases of looting and served 35 persons with the notice of charges. Over 30 cases related to collaboration activities were recorded, and five persons were served with the notice of charges.

Meanwhile, the police continue to carry out clearing operations within the areas, which used to be seized by Russian troops. They are revealing the persons who collaborated with the enemy, identifying the victims of the Russian aggression, recording the scale of destructions and examining the bodies.
