Russian troops kill 197 children in Ukraine
Russian troops have killed 197 children in Ukraine since February 24, according to data provided by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office.
“In particular, 197 children were killed and more than 350 were injured. These figures are not final, as work is underway in the areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories,” the PGO’s press service wrote on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
The largest number of victims has been recorded in Donetsk region – 115, Kyiv region - 105, Kharkiv region - 81, Chernihiv region - 54, Mykolaiv region - 40, Kherson region – 38, Luhansk region – 36, Zaporizhzhia region – 23, Kyiv city – 16, Sumy region – 16, and Zhytomyr region – 15.
During the process of recording criminal offenses committed by the Russian military in Hostomel and Bucha, Kyiv region, the bodies of 4-year-old and 10-year-old children with injuries, as well as the burnt body of a 17-year-old boy were found.
It became known that in February, Russian soldiers shot a civilian car that stopped on the roadside at a checkpoint in the Chornobyl zone, near the village of Ditiatky, Kyiv region. A father and his minor son died.
In addition, the number of children who died as a result of the shelling of the Kramatorsk train station has grown to 7. Two more children died in the hospital.
Regular air strikes and shelling of civilian infrastructure and residential areas by the Russian armed forces damaged 1,014 educational institutions. Of which, 91 were completely destroyed.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
