Skadovsk City Council says no to cooperation with Russians
Russian invaders have replaced a Ukrainian flag with a Russian tricolour over the City Council building in temporarily occupied Skadovsk in southern Kherson Region.
Skadovsk city head Oleksandr Yakovliev announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
“This morning in Skadovsk, the occupiers removed Ukrainian flags from the city council building and from the flagpole in the city centre. Hanged out their tricolors. Thus, they say that they are fully responsible for everything that happens in the city and the community in the future,” Yakovliev wrote.
He added that the Skadovsk City Council would not cooperate with the occupiers, so from today no employee of the executive committee would work in the building under the enemy flag.
As Ukrinform reported, Skadovsk city head Oleksandr Yakovliev left Kherson Region on April 6 and has been working remotely due to threats from the occupiers.
On February 24, Russian President Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops are shelling and destroying key infrastructure, massively shelling residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
