The relevant decree was published on the Russian official portal of legal information, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to the decree, the brigade was honored for the “mass heroism and valor, tenacity, and courage shown by the personnel in hostilities for the defense of the motherland and state interests during armed conflicts”.

A reminder that, on April 4, 2022, the Main Intelligence Department of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry released the list of Russia’s military units, which were deployed in Bucha and committed atrocities. The 64th Separate Motor Rifle Brigade, which is part of the 35th All-Military Army of the Russian Federation, was among them.

According to the intelligence data, the Russian leadership is bringing the 64th Separate Motor Rifle Brigade back to Ukraine. They are expected to complete ‘special tasks’, mainly intimidate civilians in Ukrainian settlements. Those who committed the genocide of the Ukrainian people in Bucha can repeat atrocities in other cities and villages.
