Motuzianyk: Russia taking revenge on Ukraine for destruction of Moskva cruiser

The loss of Moskva cruiser caused resentment among Russian society. Missile strikes on Ukraine are obviously an emotional decision of the Russian leadership, triggered partially by the desire for revenge.

“The Russians do have such a notion as revenge. We often see that certain actions of the Russian army are illogical, because decisions to take them are obviously made rather on an emotional level. For example, the Russian Federation lost Moskva cruiser which caused resentment among Russian society. Therefore, the Russian army needs to give some response to calm its population. The number of missile strikes has increased not least due to the desire for revenge," Oleksandr Motuzianyk, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

As reported, Moskva cruiser of the Russian Black Sea Fleet was significantly damaged after it was hit by Ukraine’s Neptune anti-shipping missiles. Subsequently, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the Moskva missile cruiser sunk.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to prevent much more missile strikes.
