Ukrainian air defense units destroy 17 air targets over past day

The anti-aircraft missile units of the Ukrainian Air Force and the Ukrainian Ground Forces destroyed 17 air targets in the past day, including three aircraft and five cruise missiles.

According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.

"The 59th day of the liberation war against the Russian occupiers is coming to an end. Like all other days, it was difficult for Ukrainian defenders. Military transport, fighter, bomber, assault aircraft of the Air Force continue to perform their tasks in Ukraine's airspace, providing support and cover for ground troops and firing on the positions of the Russian occupation forces. And the state's air defense continues to destroy the enemy in the air," the statement read.

On April 23, the anti-aircraft missile units of the Ukrainian Air Force and the Ukrainian Ground Forces struck 17 air targets, including three aircraft (preliminarily Su-34, Su-35 and Su-25), five cruise missiles and nine UAVs (presumably Orlan-10 drones).

Earlier reports said that Ukrainian defenders killed about 21,600 Russian soldiers from February 24 to April 23.
