In Donetsk and Luhansk regions, 25 houses damaged on Apr 23, casualties reported
On April 23, Russian forces launched attacks on Donetsk and Luhansk regions, damaging 25 houses, killing and wounding civilians.
The press service of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said this in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.
"Enemy air strikes and artillery shelling caused the destruction and damage of about 25 mutli-storey apartment buildings and private houses in Lyman, Avdiivka, Severodonetsk, Lysychansk, Novodruzhesk, Velyka Novosilka, Pryvillia of Cherkasy united territorial community, Dronivka in Bakhmut district. The enemy is destroying the social infrastructure: buildings of the agricultural firm were destroyed and the boiler house was damaged in the shelling. There are casualties among the civilian population,” the report says.
Moreover, Russian attacks injured two people in Lyman and five more in Avdiivka. As a result of the Russian shelling of the village of Velyka Novosilka, Volnovakha district, one person received a mine injury and shrapnel wound. Another man was taken to hospital in serious condition, his injury led to the amputation of both legs.
On April 23, 252 people, including 36 children, were evacuated from Lyman, Velyka Novosilka, Pokrovsk, Novohrodivka, Lysychansk, and Popasna.
As Ukrinform reported, from February 24 to April 24, 2022, the total estimated losses of Russian forces included: 21,800 personnel, tanks – 873, armored combat vehicles – 2,238, artillery systems - 408, MLRS - 147, air defense means - 69, aircraft - 179, helicopters - 154, vehicles – 1,557, ships/boats - 8, UAVs of the operational and tactical level – 191, special equipment – 28, and mobile SRBM systems – 4.
