Blasts damage broadcasting antennae transmitting Russian radio in Transnistria

Explosions have been reported at a radio broadcasting facility in the village of Maiac, Grigoriopol district, in self-proclaimed Transnistria.

“On the morning of April 26, two explosions took place in the village of Maiac, Grigoriopo district: the first at 6:40 and the second at 7:05... As of 9:00 it is confirmed that two powerful antennae were damaged: a megawatt and half-megaWatt. Both broadcast Russian radio. None of the employees of the Transnistrian Radio and Television Center or local residents were injured," the Transnistrian Interior Ministry said.

The details of the incident are currently being investigated. It is unclear who stands behind the attack.

On Monday, April 25, a series of blasts hit the premises of the State Security Ministry of self-proclaimed Transnistria in Tiraspol. No one was hurt in the incident.
