One of Russian invaders' attempts to attack Azovstal plant ends in escape
In Mariupol, one of the attempts by Russian invaders to assault the area of the Azovstal steel plant ended in their escape and losses.
According to Ukrinform, Petro Andriushchenko, an adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, reported this on Telegram and published a video showing the escape and losses of the invaders after their assault on Azovstal.
"Video from the last street fights in the Azovstal area. It's unique because usually we only see TikTok fighters with empty windows. Here are the real consequences of Russian marines' attempts to attack Azov [Regime] and our marines," Andriushchenko said in a post to the video.
Earlier reports said that about 1,000 civilians and Ukrainian troops, including about 500 wounded, stay at the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol. The Ukrainian authorities are demanding that the Russians guarantee an urgent humanitarian corridor from the plant.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the assault on the Azovstal industrial zone inexpedient and ordered Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to cancel it and block the plant.
Russia's aggression caused one of the biggest humanitarian catastrophes in Mariupol. The invaders are bombing unarmed residents and blocking humanitarian aid.
Soldiers of the Azov Regiment, Ukrainian marines and motorized riflemen continue to defend the Ukrainian port city.
