Enemy destroying settlements in Luhansk region unable to capture them

In Luhansk region, the enemy destroys all settlements with constant heavy shelling but cannot capture them. 

"Our Luhansk region continues to hold the defense. The enemy, no matter how often it announces various seizures and breakthroughs, actually destroys our settlements but is unable to capture them… The enemy has not yet captured Rubizhne, our guys hold the defense there. Moreover, every attack is repulsed, every offensive is repulsed. Every night they [Russians] try to destroy our protective structures with artillery and aircraft. It is difficult, but everything there is under the control of our defenders," Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Haidai posted on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He named Popasna town the hottest area now.

"This town has been under fire from the very first day. The line of defense has been held there from the very first day. And from the very first day, orcs have been throwing all their efforts there, battalions and tactical groups have been redeployed from Mariupol. Aircraft and helicopters have been deployed. It’s even impossible to recollect all the weapons used to shell [Ukrainian defenders]," the head of the region stressed.

Haidai added that the situation in Zolote direction is also difficult. Here, the invaders try to break through the area of Novotoshkivka and advance further to Nyzhnie, but the line of defense is also held there.

According to the Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, modern military weapons have already been sent to the Ukrainian defenders.

As reported, Luhansk region is under constant Russian army attack. Many residential buildings, infrastructure facilities, educational institutions were destroyed in the region, and all hospitals were damaged.

On February 24, the Russian Federation launched a new phase of the eight-year war against Ukraine – a full-scale invasion. Russian invaders shell and bomb peaceful cities, towns, and villages in Ukraine, torturing and killing civilians.
