All children, women and elderly evacuated from Azovstal plant – Vereshchuk

All children, women and the elderly have been evacuated from the Mariupol-based Azovstal plant.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, Temporary Occupied Territories Reintegration Minister Iryna Vereshchuk on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The President’s order has been carried out: all women, children and the elderly were evacuated from the Azovstal plant. This part of the Mariupol humanitarian operation was completed,” Vereshchuk wrote.

A reminder that, on May 6, 2022, a total of 50 civilians were evacuated from the Azovstal plant. Meanwhile, during the ceasefire regime, Russian invaders used an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) and hit an evacuation vehicle intended to rescue civilians. As a result, one Azov fighter was killed and six were wounded.

In general, this week a total of 150 people have been evacuated from the Azovstal plant and more than 300 people from Mariupol and its suburbs.
