Russian armed aggression affects over 642 children in Ukraine
A total of 226 children have been killed and 416 injured in Ukraine since the Russian invasion started.
The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Over 642 children in Ukraine have been affected by the Russian armed aggression. As of May 10, 2022, the number of those killed remained unchanged (226 children). The number of those injured increased to 416,” the report states.
According to the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office, these data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.
Currently, most casualties were recorded in Donetsk Region (139), Kyiv Region (116), Kharkiv Region (99), Chernihiv Region (68), Kherson Region (46), Mykolaiv Region (44), Luhansk Region (44), Zaporizhzhia Region (28), Sumy Region (17), the city of Kyiv (16) and Zhytomyr Region (15).
On May 8, 2022, a 17-year-old girl was injured in Russia’s cruise missile strike on Nova Dofinivka, Odesa Region.
A total of 1,657 educational institutions were damaged across Ukraine as a result of Russia’s daily air and artillery strikes, and 132 of them were destroyed completely.
