Russian propaganda to refocus narratives on confrontation with EU, NATO
Due to Russia's continued military failures in Ukraine, the chief editors of Kremlin-run TV channels, online media, and the pro-Putin bot army are already being instructed to shift to a new information policy.
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
Massively outnumbering Ukrainian forces in manpower and equipment, the occupying power’s army suffers catastrophic losses and defeats. To change the perception of Russian audiences of own military ‘invincibility’ and prepare the public for a possible defeat, the Russian media have been instructed to tell of the Russian-Ukrainian war as Russia’s armed confrontation with all countries of the European Union and NATO," the statement said.
The military intelligence notes that Kremlin’s spin doctors believe this will level the shame of losing to a more powerful adversary.
"The occupier's propagandists will now brainwash Russians with ideas about the need to unite for their own survival and blind confidence in the Kremlin dictator's policies," the statement said.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, between February 24, 2022, and May 10, 2022, the enemy’s total combat losses included nearly 26,000 forces (+350 over the past day), 1,170 tanks (+25), 2,808 armored fighting vehicles (+44), 519 artillery systems (+6), 185 multiple launch rocket systems (+0), 87 anti-aircraft warfare systems (+0), 199 aircrafts (+0), 158 helicopters (+0), 1,980 motor vehicles and fuel tanks (+10), 12 boats/cutters (+0), 380 unmanned aerial vehicles (+3), 41 special equipment units (+0). A total of 94 enemy cruise missiles (+0) were shot down.
