Motuzianyk: Russian troops most active in Slobozhansky, Donetsk directions
Russian troops are most active in Slobozhansky and Donetsk directions.
"The aggressor continues active hostilities in the Eastern Operational Zone, fires along the entire line of contact and tries to advance deep into our defenses. The greatest activity of the occupiers is observed in Slobozhansky and Donetsk directions," Ukraine’s Defense Ministry Spokesperson Oleksandr Motuzianyk said during a briefing at Ukraine Media Center–Ukrinform.
According to him, Russian army units regroup in Kharkiv direction and try to prevent further advance of Ukrainian troops towards the state border of Ukraine. To this end, the invaders continue artillery fire on Ukrainian units to inflict losses on manpower, weapons, and military equipment.
In Donetsk region, groups of Russian troops conduct active hostilities in Lyman, Sievierodonetsk, Popasna, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Kurakhove, and Novopavlivsk directions, aiming to establish control over Rubizhne and capture Lyman, Sievierodonetsk, and Marinka.
In Lyman direction, the enemy focused its efforts on creating a bridgehead in the area of Bilohorivka and preparing an offensive on Lysychansk.
In Sievierodonetsk direction, the invaders conduct an offensive towards Kudryashivka - Sievierodonetsk.
There are active hostilities in Kurakhove direction towards Oleksandrivka – Marinka.
In Mariupol direction, the main efforts of the invaders are focused on blocking Ukrainian units in the area of the Azovstal steelworks.
In Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy holds its positions and fires on Ukrainian troops along the entire line of contact, including from heavy artillery and MLRS.
Motuzianyk noted that the threat of missile and air strikes from the territory of Belarus remained.
He also added that the enemy tried to increase its military presence on Zmiinyi Island to block the maritime communications of Ukraine. The enemy strengthens the air defense system on the west coast of the Crimean peninsula. In particular, S-300V anti-aircraft missile system was deployed in Chornomorske area (Cape Tarkhankut).
