Russian troops regrouping to resume offensive on Barvinkove and Sloviansk – General Staff
Russian troops are regrouping to resume an offensive on Barvinkove and Sloviansk and continue to carry out an offensive in the Lyman, Sievierodonetsk, Avdiivka and Kurakhove directions.
The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy opened fire on the Ukrainian defense forces units. Russian troops attempted to break through the defense line but failed. They are replenishing losses and regrouping to resume an offensive on Barvinkove and Sloviansk,” the report states.
Russian invaders attempted to exploit a success in the Bakhmut direction. Despite the losses, the enemy continues to carry out an offensive in the Lyman, Avdiivka and Kurakhove directions. Russian troops are regrouping in the Lyman and Bakhmut directions.
In the city of Mariupol, Russian troops continue to block Ukrainian defense forces units within the Azovstal plant. The enemy is continuously launching air and artillery strikes.
In the Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian troops are regrouping, replenishing ammunition, fuel and oil stocks to resume the offensive capacity.
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy did not take active actions.
In the Southern Bug direction, Russian troops did not take active actions and continued to maintain the captured frontiers. The enemy is focusing efforts to conduct air reconnaissance and fire on the Ukrainian defense positions.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, Russian troops did not take active actions, but the threat of missile and air strikes from the territory of Belarus is persisting.
In the Siverskyi direction, the enemy continued to extensively guard the border with Ukraine in Bryansk Region and Kursk Region. The enemy opened fire on Chernihiv Region and Sumy Region.
Over the past day, the Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense units have destroyed eight enemy targets: seven Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles and one plane.
