One person killed in Russia’s missile strike on five-storey house in Bakhmut
One person has been killed in Russia’s missile strike on a five-storey apartment block in Bakhmut, Donetsk Region.
The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian State Emergency Service on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
At 01:30 p.m., May 17, 2022, a five-storey apartment block in Bakhmut was hit with a Russian missile. As a result, the constructional elements at the second entrance got destroyed from floor 5 to floor 1, and a fire broke out.
At 03:20 p.m., the fire was localized within an area of 60 square meters. A child, born in 2013, was rescued from under the rubble in moderately grave condition. One more person was found dead. Rescue works are underway.
A total of 13 rescuers and one equipment unit of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service are working at the scene.
