President proposes extending martial law, general mobilization for another 90 days

President Volodymyr Zelensky proposes extending martial law and general mobilization for another 90 days.

"To extend the martial law in Ukraine from 05:30 on May 25, 2022, for another 90 days," reads draft law No.7389 published on the Parliament’s website.

At the same time, according to draft law No. 7390, the Head of State proposes extending the general mobilization from May 25 for another 90 days.

On May 18, President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted the draft laws "On Approval of the Decree of the President of Ukraine ‘On Extension of General Mobilization” and “On Approval of the Decree of the President of Ukraine ‘On Extension of Martial Law in Ukraine”.

On February 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. On the same day, martial law was imposed in Ukraine, which was to last until March 26. Subsequently, it was extended for another 30 days – until April 25, and later – until May 25.

Also, on February 24, the general mobilization was announced in Ukraine. The mobilization is carried out for 90 days from the day on which the decree enters into force.
