Russia drafting persons with disabilities into invasion force - SBU
Ukrainian defenders are apparently inflicting such massive losses on Russian invaders that their commanders have resorted to conscripting men with various disabilities to replenish their army ranks.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) via the agency’s Telegram where a video was published showing captured invaders with disabilities telling they had been drafted by the Russians in the occupied parts of Donbas.
The Russians are enlisting “everyone they manage to catch.”
Speaking of his own case, the POW said he had lost his sight in one eye back in childhood years, which played no role in the Russian commanders’ decision to enlist him.
As a rule, the new “conscripts” do not even undergo physical examinations, the SBU notes, suggesting this is because the "great ruZZian army" doesn’t care who they throw into the war grinders.
The soldiers shown in the video made the “only right decision” to survive, which is to surrender to the Ukrainian forces, the SBU says, noting that their unit has been completely destroyed.
As reported, on February 24, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Its troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages, terrorizing, torturing, raping, and killing civilians.
Ukraine's Army has been fending off the Russian onslaught, inflicting heavy losses on enemy forces.
