Lviv paratroopers shoot down Russian Su-25 plane
Lviv paratroopers have shot down a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"Today [...] an air defense unit of the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully shot down a Russian Su-25 Grach attack aircraft," the statement said.
The invaders' aircraft was downed by an Igla man-portable surface-to-air missile system.
Ukrinform reported earlier that Russia has already lost about 29,050 troops in Ukraine as of May 22. Between February 24, 2022 and May 22, 2022, the enemy’s total combat losses included also 1,285 tanks, 3,141 armored fighting vehicles, 599 artillery systems, 201 multiple launch rocket systems, 93 anti-aircraft warfare systems, 204 aircraft, 170 helicopters, 2,194 motor vehicles and fuel tanks, 13 warships/cutters, 470 unmanned aerial vehicles, and 43 special equipment units.
