Enemy regroups, tries to resume offensive in several directions

In Donetsk direction, the enemy tries to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops and reach the administrative borders of Luhansk region.

“According to the latest information, as of 18:00 on May 22, the enemy does not stop conducting offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone and launching missile and air strikes on the territory of Ukraine,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted on Facebook.

In Volyn and Polissya directions, certain units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus guard the section of the Ukrainian-Belarusian border. The threat of air and missile strikes from the territory of Belarus remains.

In Siversky direction, the enemy tightens control over the Ukrainian-Russian border in Bryansk and Kursk regions. The enemy takes measures to prevent the movement of Ukrainian troops' reserves to the Eastern Operational Zone and continues to shell settlements and civilian infrastructure in Sumy and Chernihiv regions.

In Slobozhansky direction, the enemy carried out systematic artillery shelling of Ukrainian positions. To increase the efficiency of redeployment of troops and cargo, measures are being taken to restore the railway infrastructure in the area of ​​Kupyansk.

The enemy did not take any active action in Kharkiv direction during the day. The police and administrative regime in the temporarily occupied territories was strengthened.

In Slovyansk direction, the main efforts of the invaders were focused on creating conditions for the resumption of the offensive. The shelling of settlements along the line of contact continued. In some areas, the invaders tried to conduct reconnaissance by fighting, suffered losses and retreated.

In Lyman direction, the enemy fired on the settlements of Lyman, Zakitne, Ozerne, and Dibrova, continued to fire on the positions of units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

In Sievierodonetsk direction, the enemy conducted military operations near Prudivka. The units of Russian troops also tried to launch an offensive to capture the village of Oleksandrivka but failed.

"The enemy continued to fire mortars and artillery on the positions of the Defense Forces along the line of contact in this direction," the report reads.

In Bakhmut direction, the invaders tried to improve the tactical position of their units with the support of artillery. They conducted military operations in the area of Toshkivka, Komyshuvakha, Trypillia, and Vasylivka.

In Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Novopavlivsk, and Zaporizhzhia directions, the intensity of hostilities abates. The enemy regroups.

The enemy did not conduct active hostilities in the Southern Buh direction. The invaders continue to build a second line of defense, reinforce the artillery group and the air defense system.

In Bessarabsky direction, in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova, the situation remains tense.

In the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov zones, enemy naval groups continue to perform tasks to isolate combat areas and block civilian shipping.
