Dozens of houses damaged in Russia’s shelling of Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk
Russian troops have shelled the city of Lysychansk and the village of Ustynivka, which is located nearby, leaving three civilians killed and a humanitarian aid hub damaged.
The relevant statement was made by Luhansk Regional Military Administration on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The enemy attempted to storm Ukrainian defense lines near Ustynivka and, at the same time, was destroying the village itself and the nearby city of Lysychansk with artillery strikes. As a result, two civilians were killed in Ustynivka and one in Lysychansk,” the report states.
Russian projectiles also hit a humanitarian aid hub and a volunteer vehicle, which used to deliver food products to Luhansk Region.
As for other settlements, Russia’s shelling caused damage to 11 apartment blocks and a building of Impulse enterprise in Sievierodonetsk; eight apartment blocks and detached houses, culture hall and administrative services center in Lysychansk; four houses in Pryvillia; two houses in Novodruzhesk; and two houses in Hirske.
On May 25, 2022, Russian troops launched several air strikes on Sievierodonetsk and Novozvanivka. Now, the enemy is attempting to consolidate its positions near Sievierodonetsk.
In general, over the past day, Ukrainian defenders have repulsed 10 enemy attacks, destroying four Russian tanks, two artillery systems, one armored personnel carrier, one motor vehicle and one special equipment unit. The Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense units shot down five Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles.
