Russian troops attempt to advance towards Mykolaiv but fail

In Mykolaiv Region, Russian troops attempted to bypass the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and advance towards the regional center.

The relevant statement was made by South Operational Command on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Looking for the slightest opportunity to advance towards the city of Mykolaiv, the enemy’s enhanced platoon, with the support of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, attempted to bypass Ukrainian positions. Having inflicted fire damage, with the support of Mi-8 helicopters, Ukrainian forces eliminated up to seven rashists and destroyed one BMP-2 vehicle. The enemy was finally repulsed and retreated to their defense frontiers,” the report states.

Meanwhile, the Russian military continue to destroy Ukrainian settlements and fire at civilians with artillery and mortar systems.

In the Kutsurub community, Mykolaiv Region, four social and administrative infrastructure facilities were damaged. One person was injured. In the urban-type settlement of Pervomaiske, one person was killed.

In the village of Kotliareve, Shevchenkove community, a shop and residential house were damaged. The Shyrokove community again came under enemy fire. Residential houses were damaged and destroyed, but no casualties were reported. In the Bereznehuvate community, one person was killed and one injured in Russia’s day and night shelling.
