Ukraine’s counteroffensive in country’s south sows panic among Russian forces - Command

In the south of Ukraine, the situation remains dynamic and tense. The occupiers have intensified shelling, including of civilian neighborhoods, but as a result of Ukraine’s counteroffensive in the area, panic is spreading among the invaders.

This is stated by Operational Command South, Ukrinform reports.

The enemy is holding the occupied positions, seeing no success in further advance and therefore focusing on air, artillery, and mortar strikes.

On May 30, the Russians twice attacked Ukrainian positions with a pair of Mi-24 helicopters, and Mykolaiv region. A number of settlements in the rear three times came under artillery and MLRS fire, as a result of which at least four civilians were injured. The enemy hit residential quarters and industrial facilities in Mykolaiv and its suburbs, damaging a mill, a meat processing plant, a number of households, and a water supply system.

As a result of a successful offensive of the Ukrainian military in the South Buh area, the enemy was pushed out of the village of Mykolaivka in the north of Kherson region. According to OC South, this caused panic among the Russian units in the area.

At the same time, Ukrainian missile and artillery strikes eliminated 78 invaders, also destroying eight main battle tanks, two howitzers, a Pion self-propelled gun, two Grad MLR systems, five armored combat vehicles, and two military trucks.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, referring to the interior minister’s advisor Vadym Denysenko, the Armed Forces of Ukraine had advanced an average of 8-10 km in the south of Ukraine – in Kherson and Zaporizhia regions – as of the evening of May 29.
