Residential houses damaged, two civilians killed in Russia’s shelling of Mykolaiv

Residential houses have been damaged and two civilians killed in Russia’s shelling of Mykolaiv today.

The relevant statement was made by Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Russian occupiers again shelled residential areas in two districts of Mykolaiv. Two apartment blocks, four detached houses and household buildings were damaged. One person was killed at the scene, and one died at hospital. Two more civilians were injured,” Sienkevych wrote.

In his words, a gas pipeline was damaged, and 80 households were left without gas supply services. In addition, a water pipeline was broken. In the coming days, repair crews will resolve issues. Some parts of Mykolaiv were also left without electricity for several hours, but power engineers carried out repair works swiftly.

Public utility workers handed over film for local residents to clog the damaged windows. They will also help people to remove bulk waste and clean building surrounding grounds.

A reminder that it is recommended that local residents of two districts in Mykolaiv leave the city due to the threat of Russia’s heavy artillery strikes.
