Ireland recognizes Russia’s crimes as genocide against Ukrainian people

The Senate of Ireland passed a resolution recognizing the crimes of the Russian army in Ukraine as genocide.

“…the illegal invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation is an Act of Genocide”. Senate of Ireland passed a resolution on Genocide by Russia in Ukraine,” Senator Mark Daly, Chair of the Senate of Ireland, posted on Twitter.

As noted, the document also urges to hold accountable the Russian political leadership for Russia's crimes in Ukraine, strengthen sanctions on Russia, and continue to work to end the imports of Russian energy which are funding the Russian war machine against the Ukrainian people and territories.

On April 14, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the resolution "On the Russian Federation's Genocide in Ukraine" with 363 votes for.

The parliaments of Estonia, Latvia, Canada, Poland, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic have already recognized Russia's crimes as genocide against the Ukrainian people.
