Grist storages on fire after Russia’s missile strikes on Mykolaiv
On June 4, 2022, Russian missiles hit not only the residential quarter but also grist storage facilities in the city of Mykolaiv, causing a fire.
The relevant statement was made by Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“In addition to the residential quarter, Russian occupiers opened fire on a Mykolaiiv-based infrastructure facility yesterday. As a result, grist storage facilities caught fire. Rescuers are still working to extinguish fire,” Sienkevych wrote.
According to the data from the Main Department of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service in Mykolaiv Region, the fire occurred within an area of 10,000 square meters. Eleven equipment units and 50 firefighters are working at the scene.
Two storage facilities were destroyed in fire. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
