Ukraine Army clears half of Sievierodonetsk from Russian troops – Haidai

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have cleared half of Sievierodonetsk from Russian invaders.

The relevant statement was made by Luhansk Regional Military Administration Head Serhii Haidai during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine have cleared half of the city. Half of the city is indeed controlled by our defenders,” Haidai told.

In his words, according to intercepted conversations between invaders, the Russian army commander was instructed to seize Sievierodonetsk and the Lysychansk-Bakhmut highway before June 10. Thus, Haidai assumed that “in the next five days, Russians would attempt to level Luhansk Region to the ground”.

According to Haidai, it is now impossible to evacuate civilians from Sievierodonetsk. About 15,000 people are remaining in the city. On June 5, 2022, a total of 98 civilians were evacuated from Lysychansk.
