Russians shell 22 settlements in Donetsk, Luhansk regions, killing eight people
Russian troops have fired on 22 settlements in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions over the last 24 hours, killing eight civilians.
According to Ukrinform, the press service of the Joint Forces Task Force reported this on Facebook.
"Over the past 24 hours, on June 5, Russian troops fired on 22 settlements in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Avdiivka, Kramatorsk, New York, Sloviansk, Khromove, Druzhkivka, Chasiv Yar (Donetsk region), Sievierodonetsk, Borivske, Lysychansk, Pryvillia, Novodruzhesk, Bilohorivka, Zolote, Hirske, Komyshuvakha, Toshkivka, Vrubivka, Syrotyne, Mykolaivka, Metiolkine (Luhansk region)," the statement said.
At least eight civilians were killed and four wounded by enemy shelling.
Russian troops destroyed and damaged 56 civilian objects, including 40 residential buildings. Rescuers evacuated 1,491 people from the areas of hostilities.
On June 5, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven enemy attacks in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, destroying four tanks, three artillery systems, eight armored fighting vehicles and three other vehicles. Air defense units shot down a Ka-52 combat helicopter and an unmanned aerial vehicle.
