Ukrainian defense minister, U.S. ambassador agree to work to strengthen Ukrainian army

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov and U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink have agreed to work together to strengthen Ukraine on the battlefield, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's press service has said.

According to the statement, Reznikov on Monday met with Brink who began her diplomatic mission in Ukraine. Reznikov congratulated the ambassador on the beginning of her work in Kyiv and thanked her for supporting Ukraine.

"I am sure that your tremendous experience and professionalism will have an extremely positive impact on increasing the dynamics of bilateral relations between our countries. After all, only through joint efforts will we be able to overcome the Russian aggressor and bring peace and stability back to the European continent," Reznikov said.

Brink, in turn, outlined the main priorities of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine and assured Reznikov of unwavering U.S. support for Ukraine.

She said that Ukraine has inspired the world with its courage and ingenuity, adding that the U.S. will increase the unprecedented level of its assistance and will do all it can to make Ukraine stronger on the battlefield.
