U.S. Senator says Washington should supply fighter jets, air defenses to Ukraine
The United States should find opportunities to provide fighter jets, air defenses, as well as other necessary weaponry to repulse Russian invasion.
That’s according to U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen, who spoke with Guildhall, Ukrinform reports.
“I recently joined nine of my Senate colleagues on a bipartisan Congressional Delegation trip to Germany and Poland – to show unity with Ukraine and our NATO allies, gain greater insights into the U.S. response to Russian aggression, learn more about how Congress can continue to support the Ukrainian people, and meet with Ukrainian refugees, seeing firsthand the heartbreaking humanitarian impact of Vladimir Putin’s unjustified war,” Senator Rosen said.
“My trip underscored to me that we must do more to help Ukraine defend its skies and protect its people from further violence. (…) In terms of lethal assistance, we need to find new and creative ways to provide Ukraine with fighter jets, drones, and air defenses, including Stinger missiles. We also must continue providing Javelin anti-tank missiles and other equipment to help the Ukrainian people defend against the violent invasion,” said the legislator.
Earlier in the German Bundestag, CDU/CSU deputy Roderich Kiesewetter criticized the amount of military aid to Ukraine, saying that it is necessary to increase supplies. According to the lawmaker, Germany provides insufficient amounts of weapons, ammunition, and equipment, and does not conduct enough training programs for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
