Russian armed aggression affects over 751 children in Ukraine

A total of 263 children have been killed and 488 injured in Ukraine since the Russian invasion started.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Over 751 children in Ukraine have been affected by the Russian armed aggression. As of June 9, 2022, the number of those killed remained unchanged (263 children). The number of those injured increased to 488,” the report states.

These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.

Currently, most casualties were recorded in Donetsk Region (190), Kharkiv Region (132), Kyiv Region (116), Chernihiv Region (68), Luhansk Region (53), Kherson Region (52), Mykolaiv Region (47), Zaporizhzhia Region (30), Sumy Region (17), the city of Kyiv (16) and Zhytomyr Region (15).

When recording criminal offences, the Ukrainian side received information about 10 children injured in Russia’s shelling of civil infrastructure facilities in Kharkiv Region.

A total of 1,971 educational institutions were damaged across Ukraine as a result of Russia’s daily air and artillery strikes, and 194 of them were destroyed completely.

A reminder that, on June 7, 2022, a child born in 2012 was wounded in Russia’s artillery strike on Huliaipole, Zaporizhzhia Region.
