In Chernihiv region, 478 civilians killed by Russian invaders - report
Since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, 478 civilians have been killed and 692 injured in Chernihiv region.
The data was provided by the Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, Ukrinform reports.
Among those killed by the invaders are 334 men, 122 women, and 22 children, the statement said.
It is noted that most people died as a result of artillery shelling and air strikes on peaceful settlements. Some were killed in their vehicles attacked by the Russians, and some were shot dead by the invasion forces.
A total of 1,263 criminal proceedings have been instituted into these and other crimes committed by the servicemen of the invading army. In particular, 866 proceedings were launched under Art. 438 of the Criminal Code (violation of laws and customs of war), and 349 under Art. 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine).
Twenty-two Russian soldiers were formally charged and one – indicted.
