Russian troops suffer significant losses in Sloviansk direction – General Staff

In the Sloviansk direction, near the village of Krasnopillia, Russian troops attempted to conduct reconnaissance in fighting and suffered significant losses.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

As of 06:00 p.m., June 18, 2022, the situation remained rather unchanged in the Volyn and Polissia directions.

In the Siverskyi direction, the enemy continues to demonstrate the presence of its troops in the border areas of Bryansk Region and Kursk Region.

In the Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian troops are keeping the defense at the previously captured frontiers, using the available weapons and attempting to prevent Ukrainian forces from advancing towards the state border.

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian invaders launched artillery strikes on such settlements as Dementiivka, Pechenihy, Korobochkine, Bairak, Verkhnii Saltiv, Kharkiv, Kapitolivka and Tsyrkuny.

In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy used mortars, cannon artillery and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) near such settlements as Hrushuvakha, Dolyna, Morosivka, Pryshyb and Chepil. Russian troops are attempting to create favorable conditions in order to continue offensive operations in the Izium-Sloviansk direction.

In the Lyman direction, Russian occupiers used artillery near Maiaky.

In the Sievierodonetsk direction, the enemy continues to launch cannon and rocket artillery strikes near such settlements as Metiolkine, Bila Hora and Ustynivka. Russian troops attempted to carry out assault operations in order to gain full control over Sievierodonetsk but failed.

As a result of fire damage and assault operations, the enemy partially succeeded in Metolkine and is trying to gain a foothold there. Ukrainian defenders repulsed an enemy assault in the direction of Syrotyne.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian invaders launched an air strike near Berestove.

In the Avdiivka, Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy is continuously opening fire to prevent Ukrainian forces from regrouping in other directions. Russian troops used cannon and rocket artillery near such settlements as Zhelanne, Orlivka, Opytne, Vodiane, Novodanylivka, Shcherbaky, Malynivka and Temyrivka.

In the Southern Bug and Tavriiskyi directions, Russian invaders launched artillery strikes on such settlements as Oleksandrivka, Novohryhorivka, Shyroke, Kvitneve and Pervomaiske.

In the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, the enemy’s naval group of the Black Sea Fleet is relocating.
