Ukrainian air defense downs Onyx missile on approach to Odesa

A unit of the Air Defense Forces shot down an Onyx-type missile, fired by Russia from the temporarily occupied Crimea, over the sea on its approach to Odesa.

The spokesman for the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Bratchuk, reported the news on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Odesa region. Our military downed another Onyx. The enemy launched the missile from the temporarily occupied Crimea," Bratchuk said.

As specified by Operational Command South, the missile was launched by the Bastion coastal missile complex before being brought down midair on its route toward the Izmail district.

As reported earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the past day eliminated 18 Russian invaders in the southern part of the country, also destroying a T-72 tank, an Akatsia self-propelled howitzer, a number of trucks, and a field ammunition depot.

In the Black Sea, no changes were observed in the enemy warship group. Two missile carriers, armed with eight missiles each, are posing a threat of strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine.
