Russian invaders plan to hold ‘referendum’ on Donetsk Region’s annexation on Sept 11
Russian invaders have scheduled the so-called ‘referendum’ on Donetsk Region’s annexation for September 11, 2022.
The relevant statement was made by Advisor to Mariupol Mayor Petro Andriushchenko on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The referendum on Donetsk Region’s annexation by Russia has been scheduled for September 11, 2022. Occupation authorities received instructions to prepare the venues and ‘referendum commissions’, and handed them over to public self-organization committees,” Andriushchenko wrote.
The pseudo-referendum is expected to be held amid the celebration of the Donbas ‘liberation’ from ‘Nazi invaders’ and the Soviet-era Mariupol Day.
A reminder that the Russian armed aggression caused one of the worst humanitarian catastrophes in the city of Mariupol. People have been left without water supply services for months and have to harvest rainwater. Civilians are facing food shortages, as humanitarian aid volumes are reducing.
