After destroying Siverodonetsk mosque, Kadyrovites try to shift blame onto Ukraine Army – local imam

Fighters with the Russian invasion forces’ ethnic Chechen units, commonly referred to as “Kadyrovites,” or Kadyrov’s men, opened fire on a Siverodonetsk mosque where people were drawing water from a well.

That’s according to Timur Beridze, the imam of the local Islamic community, head of the Bismillah Islamic cultural center, Ukrinform reports.

"Kadyrov's TikTokers, while still in Rubizhne, had information that there is a mosque in Siverodonetsk. At the same time, despite sparing the house of Allah of damage as believers, they opened fire on the building in the morning, when they saw a crowd of people in the backyard of the mosque drawing water from a well. They killed more than 20 innocent people from neighboring households who had been sheltering in the mosque, considering it a safer place," wrote Timur Beridze.

According to the imam, after finding out that they had in fact destroyed the mosque, the Chechens decided to cordon the site off. They sought to win time until Russian propaganda pundits arrive and shoot several fake reports for the main Russian TV channels and for Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov personally, claiming that it was the the Armed Forces of Ukraine that destroy places of warship on their own territory.

"As soon as I obtain photo evidence of what happened to the mosque, the whole world will learn about this horrifying fact of brutality on the part of the ‘long-bearded’ ones who encouraged the murder of fellow believers," the imam concluded.
