Death toll in Chasiv Yar following Russian strike grows to 15
The number of people killed as a result of a Russian rocket artillery attack on a residential neighborhood in Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region, has increased to 15.
This was announced on Facebook by the press office of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Donetsk region, Ukrinform reports.
"At 11:26 local time, during emergency rescue operations, another body was discovered (the victim is yet to be identified). In total, since the beginning of the operation, 10 bodies have been discovered at the scene, while five people have been rescued from under the rubble," reads the report.
As of 13:00, the death toll has grown to 15.
"The rescuers continue to analyze the elements of the apartment blocks in Chasiv Yar destroyed by rocket artillery fire. As of 13:00, during an emergency rescue operation, 15 bodies were found at the scene, while five people were rescued," reads the update.
According to rescuers, voice contact with three persons remaining under the rubble has been established and is being maintained, measures are being taken to rescue them.
As Ukrinform reported, more than 30 people, including a child, may remain under the ruins of five-storey buildings destroyed by Russian rockets in Chasiv Yar.
