Russian invaders plan to start ‘official mobilization’ in Mariupol in autumn

In Mariupol, which is temporarily occupied by Russian troops, the self-proclaimed "authorities" plan to start official mobilization this autumn to the front against the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Petro Andriushchenko, an advisor to the Mariupol mayor, wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Mobilization to the front. The occupation authorities plan to start official mobilization in Mariupol in the autumn. The mobilization of all without exception. This is not a Ukrainian mobilization, which requires experience in military service or training. They need cannon fodder," the mayor's adviser wrote.

Andriushchenko urged all men to leave Mariupol.

As reported, Mariupol experiences one of the biggest humanitarian catastrophes caused by Russia's aggression. The city was almost completely destroyed by enemy shelling.

Mariupol has no normal power, water and gas supplies. Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, up to 22,000 civilians have died in the city. More than 50,000 people have been deported to Russia and the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region.

More than 100,000 people currently live in the blocked city.
