Russian invaders continue to open fire on Sumy Region, Chernihiv Region
Russian troops continue to open fire on the border areas of Sumy Region and Chernihiv Region from the territory of Russia with aviation, mortars, cannon and rocket artillery.
The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“On July 19, 2022, the occupiers opened fire on Ukraine’s border areas with aviation, cannon and rocket artillery, mortars. The following communities came under enemy fire: Mykolaivka, Khotin, Bilopillia, Shalyhyne, Esman, Nova Sloboda (Sumy Region); Semenivka, Novhorod-Siverskyi (Chernihiv Region),” the report states.
In the morning, the enemy launched mortar strikes on the Bilopillia community from Russia’s Volfino. A total of 15 Russian projectiles hit the area.
Later, Russian troops used the Grad MLRS and 120-mm mortars to open fire on the Bilopillia community from Russia’s Politotdelskoye and Volfino (10 and 12 projectiles respectively).
In the afternoon and in the evening, Russian invaders twice shelled the Bilopillia community with mortars (about 30 projectiles each time).
In the morning of July 19, 2022, the Semenivka community also came under extensive enemy fire. About 100 artillery shells exploded in the Ukrainian territory within an hour. The enemy opened fire from Russia’s Lomakovka.
Russia’s aircraft fired four missiles at the Mykolaivka community. Reportedly, two civilians were injured.
In addition, Russian troops twice shelled the Nova Sloboda community with cannon artillery. About nine explosions were recorded. The enemy launched three artillery strikes on the Esman community (25 explosions recorded).
Russian invaders also used cannon artillery and MLRS to open fire on the Novhorod-Siverskyi community three times. About 50 explosions were recorded.
On July 20, 2022, the Shalyhyne community again came under enemy fire. Eight 120-mm shells exploded in the Ukrainian territory.
A reminder that, between February 24, 2022 and July 20, 2022, Russia’s total combat losses in Ukraine reached about 38,750 troops.
