Russian forces shelled Sumy region 12 times in the past day, firing more than 170 different types of ammunition and killing a local man.
Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, wrote on his Telegram channel, Ukrinform reports.
In particular, the communities of Shalyhyne, Mykolaivka, Bilopillia, Khotin, Yunakivka, and Krasnopillia came under enemy fire.
"Two military aircraft fired 10 rockets at the Mykolaiv community from enemy territory at noon. In one of the community's villages, a civilian residential building and farm buildings in two households of civilians were destroyed. People's gardens and windows were also smashed. Fortunately, there were no casualties,” he wrote.
As reported, Russian troops open fire on Sumy and Chernihiv regions every day. In particular, in the morning of July 23, 2022, the enemy used artillery, mortars and grenade launchers to strike Sumy region’s communities. Casualties among civilians were reported.
