Russian armed aggression affects over 1,042 children in Ukraine

A total of 358 children have been killed and over 684 injured in Ukraine since the Russian invasion started.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office said this in a statement posted on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"As of early July 24, 2022, the number of child fatalities has not changed in the past day - 358. The number of those injured has increased to at least 684," the report said.

These figures are not final, as work is underway to establish them within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.

Currently, most child casualties were recorded in Donetsk Region (361), Kharkiv Region (194), Kyiv Region (116), Chernihiv Region (68), Luhansk Region (61), Mykolaiv Region (54), Kherson Region (54) and Zaporizhzhia Region (40).

A 17-year-old boy was injured by the shelling of Mykolaiv on July 23.

A total of 2,188 educational institutions were damaged across Ukraine as a result of Russia's daily air and artillery strikes, and 221 of them were destroyed.
