Near Verkhnyokamyanske, Army repulses Russian scout group’s advance effort

In Luhansk region, near the village of Verkhnokamianske, the Ukrainian forces have repulsed an attempt by an enemy reconnaissance group to advance into Donetsk region.

That’s according to the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, who delivered a statement via Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"Earlier, the occupiers managed to proceed with mass offensives due to a significant advantage in artillery. However, the destruction of enemy ammunition depots made it much more difficult for them to replenish arms stocks and maneuver. Throughout July, the occupiers have only been trying to storm Donetsk region. One such attempt was prevented yesterday near Verkhnokamyanske. Our troops exposed the reconnaissance group in a timely manner, inflicted fire damage on it, forcing the unit to retreat," Haidai informed.

According to the administration chief, the enemy retreated in five more directions, from where they tried to penetrate Ukraine’s defenses.

However, the Russians continue to destroy settlements, employing barrel and jet artillery. On July 29, they fired seven missiles, carried out seven artillery attacks, a panzer attack, as well as mortared this part of the front.

The enemy continues to exploit their aerial advantage, having struck at least six more populated areas.
