Ukrainian army 'closes' railway bridge across Dnipro in Kherson to Russian forces
A Ukrainian Armed Forces strike on the railway bridge across the Dnipro River in Kherson has deprived Russian invaders of any opportunity to use it, including to deliver military equipment.
The Operational Command South said this in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.
"The results of the fire control of the main transport routes in the occupied territories show that movement on the railway bridge across the Dnipro River is impossible," the report said.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have recently struck the Antonivka and Darivka bridges, as well as a road along the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. The invaders are trying to quickly repair the bridges, seeking to restore routes for supplying ammunition and heavy equipment, but the safety of using the facilities remains in question.
On July 29, the Kherson regional military administration said that after successful Ukrainian strikes on the Antonivka Bridge, the invaders installed a ferry crossing system. In addition to passenger transport, it is also used by the Russian military to transport their equipment.
