Russian missiles shot down over Cherkasy Region, Odesa Region
Near the city of Uman, Cherkasy Region, the Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense units have shot down a Russian missile. Two persons were injured by the enemy projectile fragments.
The relevant statement was made by Cherkasy Regional Military Administration Head Ihor Taburets on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“During the last air raid alert, the anti-aircraft defense systems activated over Uman District. The fragments of the destroyed missile dropped and damaged a civil infrastructure facility. Two persons were injured and taken to hospital,” the report states.
The Ukrainian State Emergency Service is working at the scene.
Earlier, Russia’s Kalibr cruise missile was shot down over Odesa Region. The relevant statement was made by Odesa City Council on Telegram, referring to the South Operational Command.
“Around 10:00 a.m., August 8, 2022, the anti-aircraft defense units of the South Operational Command destroyed a Kalibr sea-launched cruise missile over Odesa Region, which had been fired from the Russian submarine in the Black Sea,” the report states.
A reminder that, as of August 8, 2022, four Russian Kalibr carriers with 24 missiles were remaining on duty in the Black Sea.
