Sanctions against entire Russian nuclear industry must be adopted as soon as possible - Yermak
Sanctions against the entire nuclear industry of the Russian Federation must be adopted as soon as possible, including due to Russian threats against the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian President's Office, said this in a Telegram post, Ukrinform reports.
"Russia's nuclear blackmail did not work before, and it should not work now. The best answer to threats against the ZNPP is the de-occupation of Ukrainian territories. When a terrorist puts forward conditions, the answer to this must be powerful. Sanctions against the entire nuclear industry of the Russian Federation must be adopted as soon as possible. It will not be possible to split the anti-Russian coalition. Russia is trying to undermine trust in Ukraine with its provocations, but in return, it should be recognized as a state sponsor of terrorism," he said.
Yermak said that "in the 21st century, only the main candidates for complete isolation can threaten the world with a nuclear plant." "It is this isolation that we must provide for the Russian Federation together," he added.
In the past few days, Russian invaders have been actively shelling the site of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and the city of Enerhodar. Enemy shelling poses a serious threat to nuclear safety.
